Job Description
As Managing Director, you will have full ownership of the Japanese P&L. We have a structured onboarding plan where you will spend 3-4 months as a Delivery Manager to understand our operations and clients, before a gradual transition to the full Managing Director role.
Your core objectives will be :
- Team Leadership & Development: Strengthen our local consulting team by hiring, mentoring, and developing young, dynamic talent. You will control team performance, including key metrics like billing rates and project margins.
- Financial & Operational Management: Take full responsibility for the P&L, driving the business to grow while generating a positive EBIT. You will meticulously control financial performance to ensure the branch's health.
- Business & Sales Development: Leverage your network and our existing reputation to acquire new clients and build strategic partnerships. You will manage the sales function to generate new leads, improve closing performance, and grow our recurring revenue.
- Delivery Excellence: Ensure our teams deliver simple, effective solutions to complex business problems, meeting and exceeding client expectations.
Requirements
- Bilingual English-Japanese: with a full professional proficiency (minimum Japanese Level N1, and English fluency). The job requires leading projects and managing customer relationships fully in Japanese.
- A Proven Leader: Experience managing a P&L and leading teams in an IT consulting or professional services environment.
- A Resourceful Problem-Solver: The ability to navigate challenges and deliver results with a hands-on approach.
- A People Developer: A passion for building high-performing teams by hiring and developing talent.
- Client-Focused: A deep understanding of how to manage client expectations and ensure satisfaction to foster long-term relationships and word-of-mouth growth.
- Disciplined & Performance-Oriented: A sharp focus on key financial and operational metrics.
What We Offer: A Package Based on Shared Success
We offer a competitive package that directly rewards your contribution to our growth and profitability.
- Base Salary: JPY 13,000,000 - JPY 18,000,000 gross per year, depending on your profile.
- Quarterly Cash Bonus: A performance-based cash bonus tied to the branch's profitability (EBIT), with an expected annual value of JPY 1,000,000 - JPY 3,000,000.
- Yearly Equity Grant: You will receive actual equity (stock grants, not options) in Port Cities International, our global holding company. This bonus is tied to revenue growth and profitability, with an estimated annual value of JPY 3,000,000 - JPY 7,000,000.
- Other Benefits: 20 days of paid leave per year and membership to premium networking groups.
